KOHIMA: Shillong-based social activist and Padmashree awardee Bertha G Dkhar was presented with the 30th FICCI Women Achiever of the Year award 2013-14 for outstanding contributions in the field of Social Activism and Education in the Disability Sectors by the FICCI Ladies’ Organization, Northeast Chapter, in Guwahati recently.
Journalist and noted poet Monalisa Changkija, who is also the editor of Nagaland Page, a Dimapur-based English daily, was bestowed the honour for her contributions in the field of journalism.
Other awardees included Sudakshina Sarma, sister of Bhupen Hazarika, for Music (Assam), Binalakshmi Nepram for Social Activism (Manipur) and Nellie Ahmed Tanweer for Education and Entrepreneurship (Assam). (UNI)
