BSF rules out foul play in official’s death

SHILLONG: The Border Security Force (BSF) has ruled out the possibility of any foul play in the death of its official Hangsing Neihsil.

Neihsil was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his camp at Shella border on Wednesday morning.

BSF PRO Mahendra Singh on Friday said that Neihsil (35) was an alcoholic and he was even sent to de-addition centre. Asked about the several marks on his face and other parts of the body which led the family members to believe that there was some foul play, Singh said, “It appears that the marks were a reaction of alcohol and he was on medication too.”

The BSF is still awaiting the post-mortem report.

The body has been taken to the village of the deceased and he will be cremated on Friday.
