SHILLONG: Manipur recorded another double digit win in the 20th Women’s National Football Championship by walloping Uttar Pradesh 13-0 in a Group A match in Bokakhat, Assam, on Thursday.

The North Eastern team had blazed 22 goals past Chhattisgarh in their opener.

In other Group A results, Chhattisgarh lost heavily again, this time 9-1 to Maharashtra, while Railways beat Madhya Pradesh 16-0.

It was not a great day for Sikkim or Tripura in Group C, however, as both teams lost in their respective fixtures in Dibrugarh.

Bihar conquered Sikkim 4-1, while Delhi were 3-1 victors over Tripura.

In the day’s other game, West Bengal were also 3-1 winners against Kerala.

On Friday in Group D, Assam will play Uttarakhand, while Arunachal Pradesh take on Jharkhand.

The AIFF made a correction to the official results in that they had given Arunachal as the winners of a match on Wednesday against Assam, but in fact, it was the other way around. Assam thus top Group D with four points.

The only other team from the North East in action on Friday will be Mizoram, who face Gujarat in Group B.
