KYKL cadre nabbed by troops

Imphal: Troops of Assam Rifles on Friday nabbed a KYKL cadre during an operation at Lamlai in Imphal East district.
Assam Rifles official said 30 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) apprehended the KYKL cadre with a 9mm Pistol, three live rounds.
The KYKL cadre was identified as Shakil Ahmed of Sora Awang Leikai at Lamlai in Imphal East district.
He alongwith the recovered items have been handed over to Lamlai Police Station.
Meanwhile, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation at T Bongmol, Chandel district and recovered illegal sandal wood on Thursday.
Nine Assam Rifles troops  noticed that there were some logs of wood lying hidden behind the bushes.
It was found that these goods were 41 logs of banned red sandal wood weighing approximately 839 kgs and the cost of the recovered woods  is worth around  Rs 40,00,000.
The recovered unclaimed wood is being handed over to Moreh forest department. (UNI)
