Arrest

Following arrests of Jatin Marak and Mintu Das from Dengagre (EGH) and seizure of arms and ammunition, Williamnagar Police has taken custody of five persons– Bikunjoy Longmali (28), (2) Hari Gayari (35), Tapun Baishya @ Pinku Baishya (25), Joy Sonowal (38) and  Bitharstone R Marak– from Assam Police..

Fraud

Dr. Clarida E Khongmen lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that her insurance policy deposit since 2007 amounting to Rs. 2,82,418  was siphoned off fraudulently by unknown person from IDBI Shillong Branch account.

Theft

  • On May 6,one S.P Dkhar, Headman, Mawrusyiar village lodged a complaint at Nongstoin police station that one Albokstone Nongsiej (21) stole wires from the village. Police arrested the accused.
  • One  Amit Beriwal lodged a complaint at Tura police station that on May 4 night unknown miscreants broke into the Aircel office at Hawakhana, Tura,West Garo Hills and stole cash Rs. 2,79,203 and three cell phones with SIM cards.
  • One Sintu Kumar, SDE, BSNL lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on the night of May 1, unknown miscreants stole 48 BSNL batteries from Sohshrieh area (EJH).
  • R.R Marak, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on May 1, unknown miscreants stole a spare tyre and floor carpets from a Bolero vehicle (ML-05G-3417) which was parked in the premises of DC Office, Shillong.
  • One Walsang N Marak lodged a complaint at Baghmara police station that on April 29 at around 5.45 pm, while he along with his father-in-law were travelling in his motorcycle (ML-09-3342), three unidentified persons armed with pistols stopped them at Jaksongram, NH-62 in South Garo Hills and forcibly took away the motorcycle towards the Indo-Bangla border road.
  • Misappropriation

  • P.D Sangma, MCS, BDO, Rongram C&RD Block lodged a complaint at Tura police station that Saljen Ch. Marak, president and  Polsong D Sangma, secretary, Rongsep Adingre VEC in West Garo Hills, misappropriated an amount of Rs. 1,51,260 under MGNREGS.
  • Assault
  • On May 4 at around 10 pm, one person identified as Huru assaulted one Rajat Das and his mother at DAD Residential Complex, Demseiniong, Shillong. Victims sustained injuries.
  • On May 4 around 10 pm, a group of boys assaulted one Evening Dkhar at Law-U-Sib, Shillong. As a result, victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.
    Body recovered
  • On May 3, one highly decomposed body was recovered from Umsainar Forest at Sohmylleng village,West Khasi Hills). Spot post mortem was conducted and the cadaver was disposed of on the strength of Court order.

Truck driver shot at

On May 2 at around 8.30 am, unidentified miscreants shot at one coal laden truck (ML-09A-2915) driven by Md. Abul Miah at Goka village in South Garo Hills. As a result, the driver sustained bullet injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Baghmara.

Threat

SI N.K Singh of Cantonment Beat House (EKH) lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on May 2 at around 8 pm, there was a fight between two groups of persons at Anjalee Parking Lot, Shillong which led to filing of FIRs by both the parties against each other. While an entry was being made in the General Diary, one Suraj Gill tried to snatch away the FIR and forcibly touched the GD and threatened to file a complaint against Police.
