No work no pay: Govt warns employees

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Government will follow the principle of ‘no work no pay’ (dies non) for employees failing to turn up for duty during the HNLC-sponsored shutdown call in government offices.

The HNLC has called a closure of all Central and State government offices on May 8, 9, 12 and 13 demanding the release of HANM president Lamphrang Kharbani and four others who were arrested for their alleged links with the militant outfit.

The State Government has already issued directions to Government employees to attend office without fail.

“When people are absent from duty, the rule will follow as it is considered as unauthorized absence unless someone takes leave,” Warjri added.
