SHILLONG: The Sessions Court on Tuesday convicted one Rajesh Rabha alias Raphel Rabha to life imprisonment together with a penalty of Rs.10,000 and in default of fine to undergo an additional one year imprisonment for the murder of Vijon Rabha.
It was on March 20, 2011 when the convicted person Rajesh Rabha assaulted his colleague Vijon Rabha alias Rijoy Rabha (21) who later succumbed to his injuries, at their work place in Flavour Restaurant located at Laitumkhrah Police Point.
East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang said that the investigating officer, Sub Inspector Lucas D Sangma, presently Officer-In-Charge, Mawryngkneng Police Station was able to build up strong evidence against the accused which subsequently led to his conviction on completion of trial.
