Agartala: Two days after announcement of the judgement cancelling 10,323 school teachers by Tripura High Court, CPI (M) state Secretary Bijan Dhar today break his silence and termed the Court’s decision as ‘inhuman and unprecedented’.
According to CPI(M) mouthpiece of Tripura, Mr Dhar had appealed to the High Court to review the decision considering the future of the victim teachers and about 50,000 of their family members.
‘I am not making any comment on the High Courts decision but I feel to appeal the court to review the judgment considering the future of the teachers appointed by the government in compliance to the employment policy persuaded by the state since 1980,’ Mr Dhar stated.
He said the state government will take the decision for next course of action over the judgement after detail discussion with the legal experts but CPI(M) party will fight against the decision politically.
He, however, reiterated that the judgement was ‘lacking in human touch and unprecedented’ and added those celebrating this inhuman mass dismissal were ‘guided by class prejudice’.
On the other, School Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty asserted that the government will stand with the victim teachers and advised them to relay on the left front government.
Earlier, Congress and BJP had demanded to shift all the jobless teachers to other government departments considering their merit and skill who will not be selected as teachers in fresh appointment process.
Meanwhile, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) announced to organise protest rally across the state tomorrow against the irregularities done by the ruling Left Front government while recruiting teachers.
The Congress also demanded Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to resign immediately.
BJP on the other demanded independent inquiry into the entire process of recruitment and role of the administration in appointment of the teachers. (UNI)
