TURA: President of the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP), Sangkni Unit, Prabul M Marak has expressed concern over the unsatisfactory functioning of the Cellone tower located at Rimrangpara.
The federation leader claimed that since the tower was made functional it had never been able to provide satisfactory service due to which the people of the region were facing innumerable hardships in terms of communication.
“As of now the tower exists for namesake. Sometimes the tower does not function even for a day in three months, at other times it functions for 1 or 2 hours and remains inactive for almost the rest of the year,” the FKJGP leader alleged.
Stating that the poor service being provided was causing great inconveniences to the people of the region Marak has urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter and to repair the tower at the earliest for the benefit of the residents of the area.
