3 family members killed in elephant attack

Nagaon (Assam): Three members of a family, including two children, were trampled to death and another seriously injured by a wild elephant at Sakmuthia Tea Estate under Jakhalabandha PS, police sources said on Monday. Maisu Munda (30), his three-year-old son Sanjoy and a five-year-old daughter Tansu died when the tusker crushed them after lifting with trunk.

The victims were asleep when the incident occured. Munda’s wife Saraswati was seriously injured and is admitted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital. (PTI)
