Bohagi Bidai 2014 will be celebrated by the Asom Kristi Kendra, Mahila Dal, at Stoneyland, Shillong on May 17 from 2pm.

Fund sanction

The East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner has informed that an amount of Rs 9,90,000 has been sanctioned and released to the affected victims whose houses had been damaged due to heavy rainfall in the month of June, 2012.

Training

A two-day training for counting supervisors and counting assistants was held at Ampati Multi Facility Centre on May 12 and 13. Training was given to 58 counting supervisors and 56 counting assistants appointed for the purpose. Training for micro observers will be held on Wednesday at Ampati at 11 am.

Cleaning drive

A group of 12 Rovers from Saljong Rovers’ Crew and 5 Rangers from Dura Rangers’ Team of West Garo Hills Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides conducted a cleaning drive at Balpakram National Park. The group was led by L.R. Marak, District Secretary of West Garo Hills Bharat Scouts & Guides along with the Rovers’ crew leader T.B. Marak, Adv. RSL with his Asst. J.G. Momin, RSL.

Office bearers

The Dorbar Shnong Umlyngka has recently elected new office bearers of the locality executive committee, including four Rangbah Shnong – Testwell Kharir, Klindo Majaw, Lurkarawell L Tron and Thomas M Umlong, besides Apollos Majaw as secretary.
