SHILLONG: The KSU has opposed the State Government decision to conduct an entrance examination to fill the up the various seats in MBBS and BDS courses reserved for Meghalaya under the Central Pool.

“We doubt the genuineness of such an entrance test. We suspect that there could be manipulation as has always been the case in all examinations conducted by the MPSC,” KSU general secretary Auguster Jyrwa said in a statement here.

He also referred to the infamous Education scam where white correction fluid was used to deny appointment to genuine candidates.

The KSU also questioned the State Government’s decision to hold the entrance test at the last minute.

“We feel that the Government should have announced this entrance test before the results of the Higher Secondary level examination was declared,” Jyrwa said.

He said that the KSU will meet Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek to discuss the matter.

Meanwhile, the FKJGP has also opposed the decision of the State Government to hold the entrance test.

“We are opposed to this decision since the Government has not given prior information about this test. The students would have prepared in a better way had they been aware of any entrance test,” FKJGP president Joe Marwein said in a statement.

He also said the State does not any specialized centres to provide coaching to the students to sit for such entrance tests.

It is noteworthy that the State Government has decided to conduct an entrance examination for the various MBBS and BDS seats reserved under the Central Pool, in accordance with an order in this regard from the Union Government.
