SHILLONG: In a freak accident, the driver of a stationary truck (ML-05C-6482) was killed after the truck rolled down and ran over him.
According to police, on May 14 at around 4.30 pm, the truck which was parked at Rngain area under Pynursla police station in East Khasi Hills rolled down and ran over its driver identified as Iaineh Pohsah.
The driver was removed to CHC Pynursla, where the medical officer on duty declared him brought dead. In an unrelated case, on May 15, one vehicle knocked down a youth identified as Teibor Shabong (26) at Barik. The victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
Again on May 15 at around 6 am, an accident took place between a Maruti Alto car (ML-05H-4281) driven by Shell Mawrie (46) and one truck (AS-25AC-3759) at Mawiong. As a result, the driver of the car sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
