SHILLONG: Deputy Managing Director (Operations), State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai, P.K. Malhotra, visited Shillong on Thursday and inaugurated the new premises of Retail Assets and Small and Medium Enterprises City Credit Centre (RASMECCC), which has recently shifted from Demseiniong to the more centrally located Shillong Main Branch premises.

It may be mentioned that RASMECCC is a specialized loan processing, sanctioning and maintenance hub, which deals with the Personal and SME loans of 21 city based branches, handling more than 20000 loan accounts, including big branches like Shillong, Laitumkhrah, G.S. Road, Malki, Garikhana, Bara Bazar etc.,

Centralization of loan processing, sanctioning and maintenance enables the Bank to give better customer service, besides the convenience of having multiple functions under one roof. Branches are also relieved by having their processing/ sanctioning/ maintenance job shifted away from them, leaving them with more time to market the Bank’s products and concentrate on business development.

Later, in a separate function, Malhotra felicitated the top three ranked students from the Science and Commerce streams of the recently declared HSSLC Examinations 2014 conducted by MBOSE, signifying the Bank’s recognition of their outstanding performance. In another function, the Bank donated a Maruti EECO vehicle and utility furniture to Jyoti Sroat School, Laitumkhrah, a unit of Bethany Society, under the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme,

During the day, he also visited Main Branch and the Laitumkhrah Branch and interacted with the customers and staff.
