Two held for violating NGT order

SHILLONG: Police on Thursday arrested one driver and a handyman for illegally transporting coal in violation of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order in Sohra.

The arrested persons have been identified as Andreas Thabah and Alton Nongrum.

Police said that a case has also been taken up against the coal owner Sherborlang L Mawlong for transporting coal in an illegal manner.
