heft attempt

On May 15 at around 1 am, residents of Lumbyrthing village under Nongpoh attempted to apprehend one Subanan Ali (30) who was collecting materials belonging to M/s Vodafone. On seeing them, Subanan Ali jumped over a wall and injured himself.

Theft cases

lOn May 15 at around 3 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti car (ML-05C-7050) belonging to one Pynshngain Blah from Jaiaw Pdeng, Shillong.

lOn May 15, unknown miscreant John M Marak lodged a complaint at Nangalbibra police station that on May 13 at around 7.30 pm, three persons, Robert R Marak (19) Pran G Momin (18) and Karan S Sangma robbed Rs. 7,000- from the driver of truck (AS-12C-2946) at Rongkandi (SGH).

lOn May 10 around 5 pm, unknown miscreants stole one jeep (ML-04B-7000) belonging to Md. Ismail from Golf Link, Shillong.

lOn May 16, two persons, Fedrick Myrthong (28) and Raffel Pyrbot (27) stole four rims and a gearbox of one mini truck from Umkdait, Nongmynsong. Police arrested the accused and recovered the stolen materials.

lOn the night of May 15, unknown miscreants stole one Tata Sumo (ML-08A-9816) belonging to Pappu Dhar from Upper Phulbari (WGH).

Threat

One Shanosha Diengdoh lodged a complaint at Laban police station that on May 14, her husband Salim Marbaniang threatened her and her children at Kynjat Phutbol, Laban with dire consequences.

Assault

On May 14 at around 1 pm, one Obarishad Thangkhiew (22) assaulted his father, Watipli Wahlang (40 ) and Md. Abdul Monap Sheikh (40) at New Jirang in Ri Bhoi. As a result, Watipli Wahlang sustained injuries.

Threat case

Dejing Ch. Marak, Aking Nokma of Dondagre village (WGH) lodged a complaint at Tura Women PS that one Polbilson Ch. Marak who was arrested and presently lodged at Tura District Jail in connection with a rape of his step-daughter in the year 2013, threatened those who complained against him, with dire consequences.

Money demanded

Merdro Jana lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on May 13 at about 9.30 pm, unidentified miscreants demanded Rs. 1 lakh from him at Sohiong (EKH).

Body recovered

On May 17 around 12:10 pm, one unidentified male body was recovered from Umkhen, Shillong By-pass (EKH).

Accident

On May 16 at about 7 pm, one vehicle (number not known) knocked down Katham Singh (44) at Pinewood junction, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
