Dorjee leader of PPA
Itanagar: Pasang Dorjee Sona was on Tuesday elected as the Leader of People’s Legislature Party (PLP) and Wanglam Sawin as the Deputy Leader. Earlier, the executive body meeting assessed the party’s performance in the just concluded assembly and parliamentary elections before party president Nikh Kamin dissolved the executive body. Meanwhile, elected PPA legislator from Khonsa West constituency, Tirong Aboh expressed gratitude to the electorate of the constituency for reposing faith on the regional party and electing him in the assembly election. Aboh assured to highlight the public grievances of his constituency in the first session of the assembly. He specifically stressed upon early functioning of Dadam circle headquarters which was formally inaugurated in 2008, posting of doctors and other medical staff at Dadam Primary Health Centre, one of the oldest PHCs in Tirap district and upgradation of the Dadam government Middle School, a communiqué informed. Three NSCN-K cadres nabbed from Dimapur
DIMAPUR: Three cadres of NSCN-K and an arms peddler have been apprehended by Assam Rifles from various parts of Nagaland in the past few days. According to the PRO-IGAR(North), 46 Assam Rifles apprehended an NSCN-K cadre from Zunheboto Track (3 km East of Bn HQ, Phek) while he was travelling from Kotisu Basti to Phek Town on May 18. The cadre has been identified as ‘Sergeant’ Beduzo Venuh, 21 years, s/o Veposa Venuh from Kotisu Basti of Phek district, Nahaland. One 9 mm pistol with a magazine and three live rounds have been recovered from the apprehended NSCN-K cadre. The above mentioned cadre was handed over to Police Station Phek, said the PRO-IGAR-North. Earlier, the personnel of 31 Assam Rifles apprehended two NSCN-K cadres from Phom Colony, Changtongya. The apprehendees have been identified as ‘Pvt’ Lima Akhham, 25 years, s/o late Imlichungba, a resident of – Akhoia village, Mokokchung and ‘Pvt’ Takaitaba Ao, 28 years, s/o Nakxhi, a resident of- Akhoia village, Mokokchung. Assam Rifles team also recovered one Muzzle Loading Rifle (Country Made) and incriminating documents. The apprehendees were handed over to Changtongya Police Station, the PRO-IGAR(North) claimed. Meanwhile, an arms peddler was nabbed by Assam Rifles from Dimapur on May 18. The PRO-IGAR said based on specific information about the presence of an arms peddler in general area Purana Bazar in Dimapur, an operation was launched by troops of 29 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 6 Sector Assam Rifles. The troops tracked and intercepted the individual at Purana Bazar. The individual was identified as Mr. Atoka Zhimomi, 30 years, s/o Kakuto Zhimomi from Dimapur. (NNN)
