Assault
lOne Marco Thabah (29) lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah police station that on May 23 at around 4 pm, one Arnab Bhattacharjee (30) assaulted him with a wrench at Dhankheti, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Woodland Hospital, Shillong. However, Ranjan Bhattacharjee lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on May 23 around 4.30 pm, Marco Thabah assaulted Arnab Bhattacharjee at Dhankheti, resulting in injury to the victim.
lThemjme Sangma lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that one Ahmed has been mentally and physically torturing his wife Sobito Sangma since 2007. He also demanded money from her and threatened her children with dire consequences.
Maid servant held
One Provi Sharma lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah police station that on May 23 at around 6.15 am, her maid servant Laxmi Baglary (21) stole Rs. 5,000 and one gold ring from her house at Motinagar. Police arrested the accused.
House torched
On the night of May 22, unknown miscreants burnt down the house of Agatha Nongrum at Pynthorsohma village in Ri Bhoi district.
Accident
On May 22 at around 6 am, one bus (ML-05H-4454) driven by Evershinestar Jyrwa dashed against a Bolero (ML-05A-4199) driven by Bringson Khyriem at Mawngap in East Khasi Hills . As a result, the driver of Bolero sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Theft
lOn May 22, unknown miscreants broke into the quarter of one Hemant Biswanath Singh, Lecturer of Jowai Polytechnic College in the College Campus at Jowai in West Jaintia Hills and stole cash Rs. 200, one gold plated chain and other articles valued around Rs. 800. Again on the same day, miscreants broke into the quarter of R.K Oken Kumar Singh, Lecturer of the College and stole one US Dollar note and two US coins.
lOn May 21, unknown miscreants broke into the shop belonging to Shanti Devi at Williamnagar in East Garo Hills and stole groceries and cash of Rs. 1,500.
lOn May 22 at around 2.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one Tata mobile vehicle (ML-04B-0727) belonging to Heraldson Dkhar from Kongong village (EJH). Later, Police arrested two persons, Roton Lyngdoh and Kalyan Jyoti and also recovered the stolen vehicle from their possession.
lOn May 18 at around 1.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-07B-2035) belonging to Pikal R Sangma from his residence at Dawagre, Williamnagar (EGH).
lOn May 21 around 4 pm, unknown miscreants stole a wallet containing Rs. 10,500 and one ATM card belonging to John Star Sing Kharkongor at Police Bazar, Shillong.
Threat case
lOn May 21 around 9:30 am, one Pratap Sangma threatened Reuben Nongkynrih and his labourers with dire consequences at Hawakhana, Tura (WGH).
lGurnam Singh Sodhi lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that one Taruni Paul and his wife Shilla Paul took cash Rs. 1,56,000 and clothes valued around Rs. 15 lakh from his shop with a promise to repay the same and gave him four cheques which were returned by the bank due to insufficient fund. Later, when he went to ask for the money, father of Shilla Paul threatened him with dire consequences.
lModirk Nongkynrih lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on March 30, 2012 one Josimuddin Ahmed of Oakland, Shillong borrowed Rs. 47 lakh from him and failed to return the money. When the complainant went to ask for the money, Josimuddin Ahmed threatened him with dire consequences.
Fraud
lH.C Das lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on November 15, 1995, he joined as a teacher at Christian Secondary School Nongkhnum (WKH) and resigned from the job on December 2, 1995. However, till date, the Secretary of the Managing Committee of the school is still using his name as a Mathematics and Science teacher of the school.
lJingme A Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on May 17 at about 6.30 pm, she received one anonymous call, in which the caller identified himself as an SBI employee, informed that her ATM card has been blocked and asked for the serial number of the ATM card. Later, she found that Rs. 21,000 has been fraudulently withdrawn from her SBI account.
Murder
Headman of Cherragaon village (SWKH) reported at Borsora OP that on May 21 around 7.15 pm, one Senjit Hajong murdered his wife Rotilla Hajong (19 yrs) in their residence at the village, by strangulation.
Stone pelting
On May 16 at about 7.15 pm, one Meksing Langpen pelted stones at the VDP members of Mawkyrwat and threatened them at Mawkyrwat market (SWKH).
