ANVC militant with ASAK links arrested

TURA: A militant having links with two different organizations has been arrested in South Garo Hills for his alleged involvement in the serving of demand notes to top government officers of the region.
Garo Hills police arrested Tochang Sangma, a suspected ANVC militant with links to the ASAK outfit.
The accused reportedly used his Mahindra Scorpio vehicle to hand over demand notes to potential victims in the name of ASAK area commander Salchang. He was instrumental in serving extortion notes to government officials of Baghmara including the CEO of Baghmara municipal board.
