SHILLONG: Demthring-A became the first team to qualify for the semifinals in the Nongthymmai Sports & Cultural Club’s Inter Block Football Tournament by defeating Lawjynriew-H 3-0 in their round robin Group Y match at Madan Nongthymmai on Monday.
The scorers for the Demthring team were Stoney Kharkongor, Pynshai Kharkamni and Steve Kharkongor.
In another match, played between Group X Teams Lawjynriew-F and Dum Dum-B, the former emerged 6-2 victors.
Milan Nongkhlaw scored a hat-trick, while Johnny Marboh earned a brace. Wanri Ryngksai also contributed a goal in the winners’ cause.
Rudy Kharkongor and Manbha Pakyntein scored one apiece for Dum Dum-B.
