SHILLONG: The Director of Health Services has clarified that the Ministry Of Health and Family Welfare has issued an instruction stating that the mode of selection of candidates for nominations against Central Pool seats will be made by the beneficiary states on the basis of marks obtained by the students in the entrance tests.

The Director informed that if the beneficiary state is not conducting any examination, the selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained by the student in All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT) conducted by CBSE.

“In any circumstance, the selection of students will not be made merely on academic merit of 10+2 marks,” he said adding that following the directives, the Health Department decided to meet the requirement by holding the State Medical Entrance Test and it will be held shortly.
