WGH Subroto football tourney concludes

TURA: Najing Memorial Secondary School, Gambegre UP School and Don Bosco Secondary School emerged as champions of the District Level School Subroto Cup Football tournament here on Wednesday.
Najing Memorial lifted the U-17 boys trophy, while Don Bosco Secondary won the U-14 boys category.
Gambegre UP School were champions in the U-17 girls event, beating Rongkhon Songital Public Secondary School in the final.
New Tura Secondary School and Najing Memorial were runners-up in the U-17 and U-14 boys events, respectively.
Bithun Marak, Eva Barbie T Sangma and Savior Ch Sangma were singled out as the most promising players in the competition.
The tournament was organised by the West Garo Hills District Sports Office and commenced on May 14.
A total of 38 teams from the district took part in the tournament.
Former Indian League and state player Rotding M Sangma was the chief guest and gave away the trophies to the winners.
Among the others present were Meghalaya Football Association vice-president Gino A Sangma and member Jingjang M Marak.
