TURA: Garo militants dragged out a former worker of their group from his house and killed him in cold blood in the presence of his wife and children at Daji Badimagre village of Chokpot on Tuesday night.
According to a delayed report, two armed militants barged into the house of Sengran R Marak at midnight and dragged him out accusing him of working for the police.
Despite appeals by his wife and his young son who was seriously ill, the militants did not spare him and shot him from close range killing him on the spot.
“Prime suspect is the GNLA because earlier he used to be an over ground worker of the group but had left them to lead a normal life. They killed him merely on suspicion of working for police which was not correct,” said police chief Lakador Syiem from Baghmara.
