UP govt sends reports to Home Ministry on Badaun incident

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government has sent a report to the Home Ministry on the gangrape and murder of two Dalit sisters in Badaun, saying that some arrests have been made and all the guilty in the case will be punished. Home Minister Rajnath Singh was today briefed by officials on the outrageous incident on Tuesday when the two teenaged girl were gangraped and their bodies hung from a tree.
Singh was informed that the UP government has sent a report to the Home Ministry, saying some persons involved in the crime have been arrested and all guilty will be punished, according to official sources. The state government also given details about the incident.
The sources said Home Ministry officials were in regular touch with the state authorities and have asked them to ensure all those involved in the case were brought to book at the earliest. (PTI)
