Complaint lodged against labourers

SHILLONG: Pinaki Das, Secretary, Jail Road Welfare Society lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June 1 around 12:30 am, labourers staying in the construction site of Ram Deo Singh at Lower Jail Road, Shillong created nuisance, using abusive languages under the influence of alcohol and threatened the local residents with dire consequences by claiming to be GNLA members.

Further, Silbas Sangma, Teban Sangma and Bochang Sangma of Mendipathar (NGH) who managed to escape from assault at the construction site of Ram Deo Singh at Lower Jail Road, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June 1 night, local residents of Lower Jail Road, Shillong had assaulted them.

When contacted, East Khasi Hills SP, M Kharkrang ruled out the possibility of these labourers having any links with GNLA.
