SHILLONG: Police on Tuesday arrested one Sophior Lyngdoh Nongrang, a section Assistant, PWD, Mawphlang, for allegedly sending threatening messages to the State Transport minister HDR Lyngdoh.

Police said that the accused sent threatening messages to the Minister on May 24. A case has been registered after the Minister had lodged an FIR with the police.

However, before police could interrogate Nongrang he was sent for medical checkup. He was later admitted to a city hospital after he complained of uneasiness.

According to police, the threatening messages were related to some transfer order issued by the government.
