SHILLONG: The All Meghalaya Bonded Auxilary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) students have asked the State Government to give preference to the bonded nurses when it comes to job and not to conduct any interview or written test but to appoint them straight away on merit and batch wise basis.

The students said that no candidate for the post of ANM who have duly passed their examinations have been absorbed by the Government since the year 2008.

They said that they met the Deputy Director Nursing, Rikynti Lyndem several times but they never received any clear cut information and all of a sudden, they came to know that DHS published the names of all eligible candidates who could appear the written test.

“We cannot accept this and we demand that the matter should be called off immediately,” they said adding that they also urged the Health Minister AL Hek to take the issue seriously and call off the matter immediately or else they would seek justice from the court
