Teenager abducted, raped in city

SHILLONG: A sixteen-year-old girl was abducted and raped by an auto-rickshaw driver in city.

According to police, on June 3 at around 9 pm, one unidentified auto-rickshaw driver abducted one sixteen-year-old girl from Mawlai Mawdatbaki, and took her to an unknown destination where he raped her.

In another case, a woman from Haguagaon village under Phulbari police station in West Garo Hills lodged a complaint at Tura Women police station that on May 20 at around 4 pm, one Munaf Ali forcibly took her eight-year-old daughter to the house of one Mofida Bibi where he sexually assaulted her.

In a belated incident, a woman lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on May 18 at around 12 noon, one Ram Syngkor raped her fourteen-year-old daughter at Moosalyngkat village, in West Jaintia Hills and also threatened her with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused.
