SHILLONG: Nangkiew Irat secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Royal Wahingdoh FC in their U-19 Shillong Premier League match at the JN Stadium, Polo, on Tuesday thanks to a second half penalty.

In the second match of the tournament, the RWFC juniors showed promise, but could not score at any time during the 90 minutes.

Wahingdoh’s goalkeeper Nim Tenzing Lepcha made a couple of excellent saves; his 82nd minute block of a close range shot by a Nangkiew attacker was of particular note.

However, Lepcha could not stop Mebanshan Suting from converting a penalty 10 minutes earlier.
