SHILLONG: The State Government on Wednesday introduced the Meghalaya Special Courts Bill, 2014 to enable setting up of special courts for speedy trial of cases.

The Deputy Chief Minister in-charge law Rowell Lyngdoh tabled the Bill in the Assembly.

According to the official statement, the Bill has become necessary to have special courts to deal with cases exclusively allotted to them for speedy trial and end of justice as normal courts are already overburdened with various cases.
