SHILLONG: General Administration Department (GAD) Minister HDR Lyngdoh said that the Karnataka Government has been requested to allot a plot of land for construction of a Meghalaya House in Bengaluru.
“We are still awaiting the response from the Karnataka Government,” Lyngdoh said while replying during the Question Hour in the Assembly on Thursday.
He said the Government had also taken steps to identify plots other than Government land in Bengaluru.
Replying to another question raised by Sohra legislator Titosstarwell Chyne in relation with the repair of the Guwahati Meghalaya House, Lyngdoh said that the department had not taken up any repair work.
Chyne said that the Guwahati Meghalaya House was in pathetic condition.
“During my visit recent, I was informed by the staff that the Meghalaya House was not painted for the last four years,” Sohra legislator said.
