NONGSTOIN: Following complaints of harassment by girls from Meghalaya studying at the Mahaveer Swami Institute of Technology at Sonipat, Haryana the Delhi unit of the KSU visited the institute.
The Meghalaya girls at the Institute alleged that on Sunday evening some male students from different states harassed them and resorted to taking their pictures despite protests.
In this regard, the KSU, Delhi Unit met the management of the institute and apprised them of the developments.
The management assured the KSU members that such incidents would not recur in future.
The incident was also made known to Meghalaya Home Minister, Roshan Warjri, Labour Minister, Ampareen Lyngdoh, Rajya Sabha MP from the State, Wansuk Syiem among others.
The Government of Meghalaya had entered into an agreement with the institute under which 400 students from the State would be granted admission in the institute for a six-month training programme.
