Lajong get past RUFC in U-19 SPL

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong FC registered a 1-0 victory over Rangdajied United FC in their U-19 Shillong Premier League match at the JN Stadium, Polo, on Tuesday.

Sheen Stevenson Sohktung scored the lone goal of the match in the 18th minute and the junior Reds then held on for the win.

Lajong will play their next match against Nangkiew Irat SC on June 20 at 4:15pm.

Rangdajied’s loss was their second in recent days after they were defeated 2-1 by Nangkiew on Saturday.

In that match, Allan C Nongbri opened the scoring in the 43rd minute for Nangkiew with his team mate Jefferson Nongrud doubling the lead half an hour later.

Rangdajied pulled a goal back in the dying moments of the match through S Makri in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, in Monday’s contest, Langsning SC were 2-0 victors over Boys Sports Company.

Damehun Syieh scored the first goal for Langsning in the 20th minute, while Primrose Lamat scored the second in the 77th minute.
