NONGPOH: An MCS officer, recently transferred to the district from West Jaintia Hills District Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), M Lytan, has been alleged to have behaved arrogantly and indifferently towards people who come to meet her for official purposes.

A group of people on Thursday afternoon had to wait for a long time as the MCS officer refused to entertain their request for signing documents relating to their EPIC cards which would have taken a few moment of her precious time. The officer in question was seen sitting idly in her chamber doing nothing and pretended to be flipping through some files.

It is learnt that, the legacy of Lytan’s arrogance continued right from her previous position in West Jaiñtia Hills District Deputy Commissioner office. The local people rued over her behavior as unfriendly.

An agitated man who did not wish to be named was overheard saying that he would complain to former Chief Minister of the state DD Lapang against Lytan and make sure that she is transferred out of the district.

He recalled that the earlier MCS officers such as A.L Mawlong, R. Kharbihkhiew J. Shylla, Lakiang and others were people friendly officers.
