Award winning Khasi Film Ri screened in Jowai

JOWAI: The award winning Khasi feature film, Ri : Homeland of Uncertainty was screened here in Jowai on Thursday at District Library Auditorium, Jowai.

The screening was organized by the Heirisa Entertainment in collaboration with the office of the West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner.

Among the audience, the WJH Deputy Commissioner, PS Dkhar and WJH SP, Herbert G Lyngdoh were also present. Around 300 invitees were present during the screening of the movie. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dkhar lauded the effort of the producers, the director and all those involved in making of the film.

“It is an eye opener and I wish more movies be made for the benefit of the society as movies can be one of the strongest forms of communication,” Dkhar said.

He called upon the youth who watched this movie to take all the positive side for the welfare of the society.
