Royals demolish Boys Sports Company

SHILLONG: A hat-trick by Donborlang Nongkynrih allowed for a convincing 6-0 victory for Royal Wahingdoh FC over Boys Sports Company in their U-19 Shillong Premier League match at Polo Grounds on Thursday.

Donborlang scored all three of his goals in the first half, while three of his team mates added a goal each in the second.

The first goal came in the ninth minute before Donborlang added a further two in the 20th and 21st minutes giving the junior Royals a 3-0 lead at half time.

Seven minutes into the second session, Maitshaphrang Nengnong sent in a beautiful cross from the right flank for Welbokstar Iawphniaw to produce a flying header and the fourth goal for his team.

Maitshaphrang added his name to the scoresheet with a tap in following a short pass from team mate Bibek Bhutia in the 57th minute.

The final blow was delivered by Santosh Singh 20 minutes later to make it 6-0 for RWFC.

Wahingdoh will next face Rangdajied United FC on June 21 at the same venue.

Meanwhile, in Wednesday’s match, Nangkiew Irat continued their run of good form by dispatching Malki SC 2-0.

The goals were scored by Allan C Nongbri (42nd mnute) and Banmanroy Nongsiej (54th).

Friday’s fixture will see Nangkiew return to take on Shillong Lajong at 4:15pm
