New Delhi: A day after the Indian Super League entered into a strategic partnership with the English Premier League, All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel has declared that he wants to take it further ahead for the future development of Indian football.

“The partnership between the English Premier League and the Indian Super League is a good beginning. We will try to extend it to I-League too,” Patel tweeted.

“The AIFF is extremely pleased to be a part of the strategic partnership with the EPL,” he added.

Patel’s tweet comes at a time when the I-League is being revolutionised with lavish praise coming in from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) over the implementation of the Indian Club Licensing System.

With quite a few companies willing to follow in the footsteps of Bengaluru FC and venture into the I-League as new clubs, the league has also seen a massive rise in attendance in the last edition. (UNI)
