SHILLONG: The ANVC-B on Tuesday blamed Chief Minister Mukul Sangma for the deteriorating law and order situation in Garo Hills and sought for the Centre’s intervention to deal with the situation.

“If the situation in Garo Hills is deteriorating, blame it on Mukul Sangma who delayed the settlement process by not responding to the Central Government in time. And till date Mukul has not finalized camps for ANVC-B cadres in spite of the Centre’s reminder to the State to do so. Mukul has delayed everything intentionally to wipe out ANVC-B before the settlement which has led to rise of splinter groups,” the outfit said in a statement. According to ANVC-B, the outfit does not have any money to provide food, clothes and medicines to its cadres. “If there is no money, how will it be possible for us to buy weapons? We need food and medicines for our cadres, not guns and bullets. Government is all out to frame us in all cases,” the ANVC-B added.
