Itanagar: The BJP in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday expressed strong resentment over the state government’s alleged attempt not to “officially” communicate to the party about the visit of Fourteenth Finance Commission (FFC) to the state.
“It is very unfortunate that the state chief protocol officer deliberately failed to uphold the basic official duty in communicating the principal opposition party of the state to participate in the meeting with the FFC team led by its chairman Y V Reddy yesterday,” party’s spokesman Techi Necha said in a statement here on Wednesday.
Party’s general secretary Dominic Tadar who, participated in the meeting as a representative from the Arunachal Chambers of Commerce and Industries (AACI) on Tuesday with the FFC, was asked “verbally” by the chief protocol officer, who was present there, to represent the party in the last moment, which was very unfair”, Necha said.
The meeting between FFC and political parties of the state was held yesterday immediately after the meeting with the AACI.
The state government should seek opinions from all stake holders and build up consensus on the important issues to be taken up before the commission, Necha said. (PTI)
