Ganja destroyed, drug seized

Imphal: Manipur Police on Saturday destroyed about 4000 kgs of contraband ganja which were seized from different parts of the state.

The ganja was burnt at Pungdongbam Imphal East.

Police said the ganja was destroyed following a court order in 1997.

Meanwhile based on specific information regarding ferrying of contraband drugs on NH 102, troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector (South) established a vehicle check post at Sita road Junction in Tengnoupal and apprehended an individual alongwith the contraband drugs on Friday.

The vehicle was travelling from Imphal to Moreh and ganja weighing about 300 gm was seized. (UNI)
