Abduction
Police have arrested three persons viz. Jaswan N Arengh aka Neru (22), Jojrang M Sangma (18) and Mathius D Sangma (26) in connection with a kidnapping case under Songsak PS.
Accident
On July 9, at around 3.30am, one truck (ML-04A-0306) crashed against a tree at 4th Mile, Upper Shillong. Consequently, three persons viz. Kaspanding Basaiawmoit (26), Basten Kharbani (22) and Johny Kharbani (23) sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On July 9, around 1.20am, a Maruti Alto (ML-05L-2923) driven by one Dear Marwein (35) hit a roadside wall at 101 Area, Upper Shillong. Consequently, the driver sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Piracy
Commander Shangpliang, Chairman and Secretary, MEJAC and others lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that some video parlours in Laitumkhrah , Shillong are downloading, duplicating, copying and renting Khasi, Jaintia and Garo films. Following the complaint, on July 8, members of MEJAC along with police conducted an inspection in some video parlours and found that one video parlour, M/s Audio Video CD Shop, GS Mansion, Laitumkhrah Main Road was illegally renting Khasi and Jaintia films. Police have seized the duplicated copies of the Khasi and Jaintia films from the shop.
Theft
One P Lyngdoh lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on July 7, around 3pm, unknown miscreants stole an ATM card, one camera and cash Rs 20,000 from his residence at Ryngijynriew, Nongthymmai.
On July 4, around 10.30pm, unknown miscreants stole one cell-phone belonging to Hidar N Marak from her residence at Police Reserve Williamnagar (EGH).
J Dkhar, Deputy Conservator of Forest, lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on July 4, at around 10am, he discovered that one monitor, computer keyboard and one printer cartridge were missing from the Development Branch, O/o Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong.
Threat
One Onpry Pyrtuh lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on July 6, around 5pm, her brother Homphri Pyrtuh threatened her with dire consequences at her residence at Moorap village (WJH). Police have arrested the accused.
On July 2, two unidentified miscreants barged into the house of one Rupson T Sangma at Biratgre village (EGH), demanding Rs 50,000 and managed to snatch away Rs 2,027 from the complainant. They also threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to meet their demand.
Arson
One Nime R Marak lodged a complaint at Tikrikilla PS that on July 4, at around 3pm, one Demolish Sangma set fire to three houses belonging to the complainant at Upper Sarang village (WGH).
