ANM, LHV candidates demand merit basis appointment

TURA: The ANM and LHV passed out candidates from 2008 have demanded that they are appointed on merit basis with immediate effect. The candidates all coming under the All Garo Hills ANM Association (AGHANMA) have opposed the government’s decision making it mandatory for candidates to reappear in written tests before appointment. They argued that the system should be done away with as some of the candidates who wanted to appear in the examination were rejected on account of being over aged although they had passed out from training.

“We are appealing to the government to give appointment to passed out ANM candidates on merit as well as first come first serve basis. The LHV appointees have also not been given promotion since 2004 if they had some of us could have been absorbed into their posts’’ the President of AGHANMA said.
