BSF recovers huge drugs consignment

SHILLONG: Action on a tipoff on July 10, a special joint Ops party consisting of BSF Intelligence Wing, Aizawl and CID (SB) Mizoram Police apprehended one person Phillip Colney (39) and recovered 32 Kgs (2,72,000 tablets) of Pseudoephedrine worth Rs 10,88,000 (at local market) which was wrapped in 19 black coloured polythene bags and further packed in one maroon coloured travelling bag from his house.

BSF spokesperson, Satish Budakoti, Deputy Inspector General, HQ BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier, intimated that the seized Pseudoephedrine was brought from Delhi to Aizawl by road through trucks for further smuggling out into Myanmar.

These tablets have a huge demand in Myanmar to further extract 60-68% of ephedrine to manufacture into Meth Amphetamine in Myanmar.
