SHILLONG: Yet again, a case of inhuman killing by unidentified miscreants has been reported from Ampati, the home constituency of Chief Minister Mukul Sangma.

As per a delayed report, the body of a person with his eyes and mouth tied with towels was recovered from Bolong Stream, at Dosagre village under Ampati police Station.

According to police, it was on July 8 that they recovered the decomposed body (40/45 yrs), apparently a non-tribal from Bolong Stream.

Police said that since the eyes and mouth were gagged with towels, it is suspected that the victim was abducted by unknown miscreants and later he was murdered near Bolong Stream.

The body was sent to Tura Civil Hospital for post mortem and the police are yet to make any breakthrough in the case.

Husband of murdered woman absconding

Police are yet to know any motive behind the killing of 55-year-old woman Dwisphida Dkhar, whose body with throat slit was recovered from Laitmynsaw village under Jhalupara Police Outpost last week.

Police on Friday said that they are yet to understand the motive behind the murder since her husband Morningstar Lyngdoh, who is the prime suspect in the case, is still absconding.

However, police are making all attempts to get the husband arrested to make breakthrough in the case.

After the body of Dwisphida Dkhar was recovered with her throat slit last week from a hilltop at Laitmynsaw village, there was no condemnation from any women groups or other pressure groups unlike the widespread condemnation against the killing of a mother of four children at Chokpot by suspected GNLA militants.
