SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has suggested on the need to have a special road programme for villages not covered under the PMGSY.

“Under the PMGSY, only villages with a total population of 250 are covered. Therefore, the centre would have to come up with a special road programme to cover villages which have a population less than 250,” Sangma told newsmen on Thursday.

He also said that at present, there are many villages in the State which have a population of less than 250 especially in the borders.

“It will be a great thing if the Centre comes up with this special road programme,” Chief Minister said.
