President appoints P B Acharya as Guv of Nagaland

Kohima: The President of India Pranab Mukherjee has been appointed Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya as Governor of Nagaland.

According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique here on Monday, the President has also appointed Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya, to further discharge the functions of the Governor of Tripura, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Tripura are made.

Meanwhile, the President has accepted the resignation of Vakkom Purushothaman as the Governor of Tripura, it said.

At present Meghalaya Governor Dr Krishna Kant Paul is looking after the Office of the Governor of Nagaland following the resignation of Dr Ashwani Kumar. (UNI)
