Accident

On July 15, at around 12.20am, one Maruti Alto driven by Wanlam Mawkdoh (32) and another Maruti vehicle driven by Thanshun Rani (50), collided at Murgi Bazar Junction, Garikhana, Shillong. As a result, both the drivers and an occupant sustained injuries and were removed to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.

 

On July 14 evening, one Maruti Alto driven by Donald Synrem (24) crashed into another Maruti car at Sohrarim (EKH). As a result, the driver and another occupant in the Alto sustained injuries and were removed to Bethany Hospital, Shillong.

Hit and Run

On July 11, around 3pm, one vehicle (number not known) knocked down a minor girl, Wanpyntngen Thongni (4) at Byrnihat Proper (RB). The victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Nongpoh.

Arrest

On July 14, police arrested one Kyrshan Trang (30) from Khapmara in connection with a rape case under Umiam PS.

Assault

One Devika Chettri lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS, that on July 14, at around 1.30am, her husband, Debjaj Boro damaged household articles and assaulted her, causing grave injuries. She further accused her husband of torturing her, physically and mentally, since their marriage.

 

A woman lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS, that on July 13, around 6.15pm, thee persons indentified as Khum, Boipu and Thangpu, assaulted and attempted to molest the complainant at Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong, causing injuries to her.

Threat

One Dipanakar Das lodged a complaint at Laban PS, that on July 13, upon his visit, along with his family members, to his sister’s home at Upper Laban, Shillong, his brother-in-law, Arindam Das abused the complainant and his family members using filthy language and also threatened them with dire consequences.

 

Meanwhile, Arindam Das lodged a complaint at Laban PS, that on July 13, at around 8pm, Dipankar Das quarreled with his (complainant) wife using abusive language at Upper Laban, Shillong.

 

Blosswell Lyngkhoi and members of Seng Kynthei Protection Association (SKPA), Ngunraw village (SWKH), lodged a complaint on July 12 at Mawkyrwat PS, that one Sainfull Pahsyntiew, one Paros Wanniang and one Bonarlin Turnia, violated the village order by selling illicit liquor in the village. When confronted, they threatened the members of the Village Dorbar / SKPA with dire consequences.

Drugs recovered

One Danny S Kharbani lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS, that on July 13, around 6.30pm, one plastic bag containing suspected psychotropic substances was recovered from the possession of a drug peddler, Sajal Das who was apprehended from Nongthymmai, Shillong. The police have arrested the accused.

Fraud

One Khogen Ch. Pegu lodged a complaint at Tura PS, that on June 27, unknown miscreants fraudulently withdrew Rs 95,000 from his account at SBI Rongram Branch (WGH), by forging his signature on a stolen cheque.

Murder

One Phailin A Marak lodged a complaint on July 3 at Nongpoh PS, that on June 19, VDP members of Nongsder Block-IV apprehended her son Emmanuel A Marak (25) and assaulted him. The victim was admitted to Civil Hospital, Shillong, where he died on July 8 around 11.40am.
