London: Australia-born England opener Sam Robson has backed his his out-of-form captain Alastair Cook to come good soon, saying it is only a matter of time before the under-fire left-handed batsman strikes form.

It has been 25 innings since Cook scored a century and his captaincy has also come under scanner as England’s winless run extended to nine matches following the draw against India in the first Test at Trent Bridge.

“He’s (Cook) a world-class player, he’s one of England’s best-ever players there’s no doubt about that, we’re all aware of that,” Robson was quoted as saying on Tuesday. (Reuters)
