NGT ban on mining
SHILLONG: The State Co-ordination Committee of Coal Owners, Miners & Dealers Forum will hold a Public Meeting on July 21, at Dkhiah West, Teibok Phawa Football Ground, East Jaintia Hills District, at 11:30 AM.
This Forum meeting will be hosted by the Jaintia Coal Miners & Dealers Association and in this meeting cutting across party lines, where MLA’s, & MDC’s of both the opposition and the ruling, Dolloi’s, Rangbah Shnong, village elders and people involved in coal business sector from all over the State are expected to attend. The purpose of the Public Meeting is to solely focus on issues pertaining to the ban imposed by the National Green Tribunal on rat – hole mining of coal in the State.
