Three killed in road mishap

Aizawl: Three people were killed in three separate road accidents in Mizoram.

A bus driver was killed when the bus met with an accident at Thuampui locality around 1920 hours on Thursday, police said. The accident took place when the bus, which the driver had parked before he relieve himself, began to move.

The driver Rosangzuala, 31, immediately jumped inside the vehicle which suddenly overturned and crushed him to death.

In another incident, a pillion rider of a scooty, Zonunsanga, 21, died of head injury when the scooty and a truck collided at Mission Veng area around 8:40pm on Thursday night.

Both the truck driver and the scooty driver were arrested but the 17-year-old scooty driver was later released.

A 33-year-old man in Lawngtlai in southern Mizoram also lost his life when an LPK truck he was travelling in ran off the road and fell into a deep gorge around 0930 hours on Friday. (UNI)
